The GEAR Projects could not exist without support from volunteers. They provide a community perspective and provide added support for our client group.
At GEAR we believe that care by the community is more effective than Care in the Community. Care by the community occurs when sections of our community decide to care for their own by looking after society's weaker. members.Our volunteers provide Care by the Community.
GEAR's volunteers exist to help relieve, sickness, poverty and distress amongst the homeless population of Gloucestershire. Aged from 18 to 80 , they help by befriending, cooking, fundraising, making sandwiches, supporting administration, supporting staff and being themselves.
Volunteers who have a specialist skill - they might be a solicitor or a training provider for example - may like to offer to help GEAR Projects on an ad hoc basis. If you have a specialist skill please contact us below.
